LACROSSE

    2024 SPRING LACROSSE

ORYA lacrosse is committed to offering a community-based program open to kids ages 4-14. Kids are welcome to join at any age regardless of previous experience. In practices we focus on fun and our teams participate in either the SAYLL or NHYLA programs for game play. Practices are held at one of the town fields (in either Madbury or Lee). The 7U program is skills and drills only for our youngest players. While our 8U-14U have 2 practices a week with one game per weekend. Please remember that the registration deadlines are driven by league enrollment requirements so please honor the sign-up dates below!

Registration Cost:  The Lacrosse AG works hard to keep the registration cost to a minimum. If your child would like to play but registration or equipment costs are an issue, please reach out! ORYA offers financial assistance to qualifying families and the Lacrosse AG members can help find equipment if needed.

Teams will have 1-2 practices a  week with a game on Saturdays. All games are played close by in the seacoast region.  Our goal for these young players is to love the game while working as a team and on basic lacrosse skills. Boys equipment requirements include pads, cleats, helmet, mouth guard, and stick. Girls equipment requirements include eye cage, stick, mouth guard, and cleats.

The season will begin with turf practices at either ORMS or Tucker field (UNH) before grass fields are open for the season. Once grass fields open, practice schedules may change to ‘regular season’ schedule.

      • 14U Lacrosse | Grades 7&8

The 14U program is for 7th and 8th graders. Players build on what they’ve learned in 10U & 12U seasons and begin to master some of the more advanced skills and game tactics. Team play becomes more of the focus with players needing to understand their role. Positional awareness and specialization becomes more important. Our 14U teams have 2 practices a week and games on Sundays.

The season will begin with turf practices at either ORMS or Tucker field (UNH) before grass fields are open for the season. Once grass fields open, practice schedules may change to ‘regular season’ schedule.

Boys equipment requirements include pads, cleats, helmet, mouth guard, and stick. Girls equipment requirements include eye cage, stick, mouth guard, and cleats.

Kids are encouraged to play both ORYA as well as ORMS lacrosse! Playing both gives kids the chance for more games and ultimately more touches on the ball. Conflicts rarely occur but our coaches understand this might happen and will work with you once schedules are finalized.
