TRACK & FIELD

  • SPRING 2024 | Grades K – 4

ORYA Track & Field is back for the spring season! This is a laidback program and a great one for those already doing other things. Participants will be introduced to a range of age-appropriate distance events and techniques related to each. All will be challenged to continually set new personal achievements rather than always base success on comparisons to others.

We will be introducing the fundamentals of running events and field events in a fun environment. Emphasis will be given to proper running form and concepts of conditioning. We will also encourage participants to display good sportsmanship. Skill specific drills will be utilized to work on techniques.

Please either Email Me or say yes to the “can you offer coaching support” question during registration. Coaches are not responsible for creating practice plans!

Why do Durham, Lee & Madbury residents pay different rates?
When ORYA receives funding from the communities we serve, it directly subsidizes the participation of our ‘non-competitive’, recreational programs for members of that specific community. The differences between each residency-rate is a direct reflection of the expected or actual funding from each community in the budgeted year. If one community has a lower player fee, it means that community has chosen to reduce your participation fee in youth, recreational athletic programs. Travel-based programs are not subsidized by town funding.
