The ORYA Track & Field program is designed to introduce participants to multiple components of the sport from conditioning to form running to participating in age-appropriate track events. With a strong emphasis on participation over competition, the program aims to teach kids that running can be fun! Kids of all age, skill and fitness levels can feel comfortable joining this program as we will focus on individual improvement and setting individual goals. Our true aim is to lay the framework for fostering a life-long love affair with exercise and physical activity.
ORYA Track is currently in a holding pattern. Due to recurring track availability issues our goal is move toward offering a weekend-only program when we can be guaranteed track time at either ORHS or UNH.
Considering this move to weekend-only program dates, we are starting from scratch when finding a coordinator and coaches for the program.
Since all of our programs are facilitated by volunteers we need you! ORYA’s Track program is on hold until we find some interested & dedicated volunteers to help coordinate and coach the program.
Interested? All you need to do is give us a call! Jim O’Hara can be reached at 603-868-5150.
Grades 1 – 8
We will be introducing the fundamentals of running events and field events in a fun environment. Emphasis will be given to proper running form and concepts of conditioning. We will also encourage participants to display good sportsmanship, and to have fun!
